We have been training men and women how to become electrical workers for over 25 years.

The next class starts on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 and meets Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm for only 5 weeks!

We're located at the Northbrook Office Park, 2922 Fuller Avenue (right off Plainfield), room 116 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

We only train 10 students in each class, so sign up NOW, to ensure your seat.  (We still have a few seats open.)

Call us NOW at 616-874-2202 to save a seat.

We can get you started in that new Electrical Wiring or Electrical Troubleshooting career, or HELP YOU IMPROVE YOUR SKILLS IN YOUR CURRENT JOB. We'll teach you how to become a safe, knowledgeable, skilled tradesman.

WE ARE QUICK TRAINING TO GET YOU RESULTS!!!!!  This training is only 10 total nights.

We don't waste your time. Our class is only two nights a week for 5 weeks, or 10 total nights.

If you already have a job, you can count on improving your knowledge, safety and skills in working with electricity. Many of our students have become apprentices, electrical technicians, or promoted or reassigned into maintenance after completing our class.

If you're looking for work in the Electrical or Industrial Electronic field, we can help you with that, too. You will receive 30 or more job leads during the course of the training, plus 100 Electrical and Heating Contractors and Company job leads, from companies who have hired past students, or sent their employees to us for training. We have worked with most of these companies for a long time.

You also will learn valuable interviewing skills, plus receive a "Skills Learned" list that explains all the topics covered (that you can take to the interview with you).

And now, you can take the entire course of "Basic Electricity & Electrical Wiring AND/or Electrical Troubleshooting", or you can divide them up, and just take either "Basic Electricty & Electrical Wiring" or "Electrical Troubleshooting". The choice is up to you.

Once you complete each course (and we have been paid) you will receive 2 Certificates of Completion, one for each portion of the training.

You will also receive the books and many class notes to refer back to.

AND YOU WILL ALSO RECEIVE OUR VERY RARE AND VALUABLE TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDES

(such as:

  • How to fix or repair lights, plugs, switches, or any other electrical malfunction
  • The difference between single phase and 3-phase
  • Major components, like transformers, motors, controllers
  • Step-by-step instructions on what to look for, and how to fix it
  • For Buildings and Machines
  • Appliance Troubleshooting Guides)

After your training you will be able to:

* Identify and use electrical material and tools

* Identify electrical symbols, read schematics, wiring diagrams and ladder diagrams

* Learn safety procedures, about code violations and preventive maintenance tips

* Learn how to use basic wiring techniques, wiring lights, receptacles and 3-way switches

* Learn logical troubleshooting procedures, troubleshooting guides and class text.

* Identify and use electrical multi-meters, voltmeters, ammeters and digital meters.

* Understand procedures for motors, controls and preventive maintenance.

* Learn Ohms and Power Law, series and parallel circuits.

* Explain resistance, capacitance, inductance, current, power and voltage.

* Understand transformers, power distribution and branch circuits.

* Learn the basics of integrated circuit boards and programmable controllers.

WE TEACH EVERY ONE OF THESE SKILLS IN OUR 5-WEEK CLASS.

You'll receive a 1 1/2" notebook filled with 2 books, class notes and many troubleshooting guides. We use videos, hands-on projects and classroom training instruction to teach you Electrical Wiring and Electrical Troubleshooting.

It doesn't require rocket science to become a good electrical worker. But it DOES require the basics and some practice. WE CAN GIVE YOU THOSE BASICS and you'll get your practice on the job. It also requires a good attitude and attendance record.

WE'RE REALLY PROUD OF OUR SUCCESS RATE and want to offer YOU the chance to become one of Burton Electric's working graduates. So far this year, 75% of our students are working, and their average starting wage is $11.00 per hour! And during the past 25 years we have trained over 2000 students.

Some of the exciting careers our students have started working as are:

* Factory Maintenance Workers

* Hospital Maintenance Workers

* School Maintenance Workers

* Apartment Complex Maintenance Workers

* Hotel Maintenance Workers

* Telecommunications Installers (telephone, cable and satellite installers)

* Electrical Apprentices

* Heating and Cooling Apprentices

* Electrical or Electronic Supply House Workers

* Electrical Panel Assemblers

Just think...if you had been in our last class, you would already have your certificates, your troubleshooting guides and class material to refer back to, plus many job leads (and most likely, a new job or promotion!).

We begin the class assuming most students know nothing about electricity and ONLY 5 SHORT WEEKS LATER, you will have 2 different impressive certificates with your name on it, describing all the topics you have learned.

We often run into former students who thank us for helping them start their electrical careers. Some are now master electricians, journeymen, supervisors and project managers. Others are apprentices, electrical maintenance workers, and heating and cooling workers.

They're loving their jobs and the money they're making!

THAT CAN BE YOUR SUCCESS STORY TOO!

Here are some comments from some of our graduates:

Bill A. - "The only way to start electrical training is this class.  It will help start me in the best way with my experience in the work I do.  Greatest start I ever got from any instructor."

Nderim K. - "I liked it very much. The class was very explanatory. I will recommend your class to anyone that I know."

Ken S. - "Excellent class! I now have a job in the electrical maintenance field, thanks to you."

Ralph M. - "I knew most of the basics from before, but this helped refresh my memory. I learned many new things, and terminology I did not know. It helped me find out what a contractor may want and what he is talking about."

Jeff A. - "Everything was excellent. What more can I say?"

Roger M. - "What Reader's Digest does for words, Burton Electric Training does with electrical training."
